Your own source is specific,

"Peoples subjected to Muslim rule usually had a choice between death and conversion, but Jews and Christians, who adhered to the Scriptures, were allowed as dhimmis (protected persons) to practice their faith. This "protection" did little, however, to insure that Jews and Christians were treated well by the Muslims. On the contrary, an integral aspect of the dhimma was that, being an infidel, he had to openly acknowledge the superiority of the true believer--the Muslim."

This quote(and others) clearly shows that the attitude of the Muslims was egalitarian in that their contempt was for anyone outside of Islam, not Jews alone as both you and Nadine try to show.
Thank you for the reference and for showing all of us that Islam has been at odds with all non-Islamic religions.
I read the reference some time back and have wondered how it could be used to support charges of anti-Semitism when, in fact, it supports the thesis that new religions(and neo-politics) are intolerant of all "others".

Anti-Semitism is not a correct term to use when everyone who is an "other" is discriminated. Then it is simple discrimination against non-Muslims. So much for what happened in ancient times.

What is going on now is quite another story, best understood by looking at the Muslim world as being at war(with every non-Muslim) and, therefore, using propaganda to control its masses. And here the propaganda is vicious and is applied to all non-Muslim parties in the conflict.
