I often tell of my experience in the 80's visiting a friend having open-heart surgery in London, in a pale-green hospital that looked like army barracks. The expert surgeons in their 30s' and 40s were paid something like $35k/yr. after 8 years medical training. The ones I talked to all said, "eventually, I'd like to go to America". LOL! Since my friend was American he had to pay all costs for 6 weeks in hospital... about two grand...<gg> I was put up in a place on the bulletin board of people who housed family and friends, a B&B right in Wimbledon that cost $15/day. Everyone there has a different view of medical things. Maybe it's 'cause they went thru the Blitz, and have a bit of community spirit. Or, it's our *^%$& political system, turned into a weapon of extortion by insider-lobbyists. Or both.
