My son (a Mac user) just purchased a used Dell Latitude CPi laptop with W2000 installed, which is something I know almost nothing about. He is seeing in a hardware profile that two batteries are present, but the Power Options control panel power meter says batteries 1 and 2 are not present. The machine apparently will not run on batteries. I have no idea what the machine even looks like.

Are these batteries easily removed and replaced, or do you need to open up the box to get to them or see if they are installed?

Is there someplace on the net, or something built into the machine he should be looking at to find out what is going on?

Any leads to follow would be appreciated.
