Hi Glenn,

I guess we should take a second and celebrate the capture of Saddam Hussein. I'm listening to Richard Perle spinning this story on C-SPAN right now. These neo-cons don't miss a beat. For some reason he isn't mentioning that Saddam was first employed by the CIA in 1959.

Re: Dean's lead among the leaders --

The survey dates are interesting. They overlap the Gore endorsement, so it's not possible to tell how much of an effect the Gore endorsement had on the respondents.

I would hope that the party would coalesce fairly quickly and stop the circular firing squad routine that the candidates are currently embarrassingly engaged in.

It will take ever effort imaginable by a unified Democratic Party to pull of an upset victory against Bush in November. The number of zombies in this nation willing to vote for Bush because of ephemeral events like the capture of Saddam number in the millions. I listen to them on C-SPAN. I regret that the population of the United States is so ill-informed and so willing to fall into line behind a strong leader no matter how corrupt and dishonest.
