This is what the neocons generally hope. Unfortunately, the truth is that the Iraqis hate both Saddam and Bush (as the leader of the American government), as it has been the actions of both that have caused Iraq so much trouble. So they'll keep fighting.

Hopefully, the realization that eliminating Saddam doesn't stop the occupation will force more people to acknowledge that the occupation is hopeless, and get us to withdraw. If Bush knows what's good for him, he'll declare victory and announce some sort of orderly withdrawal.
