Uhgg. Not my pulp and paper producers. It turns out while this is true,

industrial discharges I believe from the manufacture of chlorine that were a particular problem

"Mercury is released into surface waters by naturally occurring processes, and industrial activities such as pulp and paper mills, leather tanning, electroplating, and chemical manufacturing. "

this might be unclear or incorrect

mercury pollution in the oceans is from other sources than coal combustion

"Solid waste incineration and fossil fuel combustion facilities account for approximately 87% of airborne emissions of mercury in the United States. "

I wondered why someone would freely offer to exchange a $40 digital thermometer for a $2 mercury one. I guess that must be the end result of trading credits.

After I made that previous post, it occurred to me that some food assistance for the poor includes vouchers for the likes of milk, fruit juice, and canned tuna.
