The report cited Merrill Lynch analyst Michael Maestas, who said the stock is worth $19 a share.

If this is a reason to buy a stock, then you have reasons to buy 97% of the stocks in the S&P 500. Some analyst somewhere will tell you to buy it.

Personally, I think CSC is a better IT Services pick than UIS. CSC will have reported > 250% increase in 2003 bookings (over 2002 bookings) when they finish the year, will have grown last 12 months revenues 25% per year when they report March 2004 (primarily due to an acquisition, but what the heck) and trades at 14x forward PE and 0.6x trailing sales (compared to 1990-1998 average levels of 22x and 1.0x). So in CSC you have a company reporting 250% order growth, 25% revenue growth and trading at 60% of its AVERAGE valuation (not peak valuation, average valuatio) of the 1990s.

That's way better than UIS.

Regardless of what Mike Maestas has to say :-)
