I find getting out to be counterintuitive to the directives of PNAC who fully intend for Iraq to become the major staging area for the Empire's thrust throughout the Arab/Caspian region. What gives you any indication that there may be a pullback from fully manning the Iraq garrison on a permanent basis? It is settled principle that every word Bush says is a lie, so when he says he's going to be turning over Iraq's affairs to Iraqis, why should we believe a word of it?

I don't believe that Bush needs to withdraw troops in order to achieve electoral success next fall. All he has to do is what Nixon did in 1968 and 1972. Lie about the promise of peace, then do whatever he damn well likes. Which is murdering innocents and continuing the grand larceny.
