Depending on the price you paid for Cube, I see nothing "scary" in this most recent alliance between Microsoft. Intel ( what else is new), Lucent, Comcast, & Compaq. Cubes price is dirt cheap for many reasons, one of which is FEAR of the competition SQUEEZING Cubes bottom line. The good news is twofold: 1) The current price of Cube reflects this fear already. 2) Cube is an ideal takeover candidate. Given the might and power of the competition in the future and the fact that Cube is just a small cap, I don't see Cube as becoming more than a niche commodity producer of chips and a fringe network player. It's just a matter of time before their bought out. Given the 2 takeovers of Chips and Cyrix, I don't see Cube commanding more than a 25-30% premium from these levels. That's about $30. Just remember Cyrix got bought out at about $25 after hitting a high of about 50. I think its a real live possibility and the next logical move here.
