The fundamental flaw in the peak oil argument lay in the almost universal assumption that oil comes from organic processes available since the formation of the planet

if you don't believe oil comes from organic processes, where does it come from? the man on the moon?

this must be nuts because everyone knows that oil was created by the decomposition of dinosaurs and their ilk

you are again following a very confused line of reasoning. the biomatter which fueled the generation of fossil fuels is primarily a product of dead plant matter. oil comes from things like sea plants and algae which were trapped under rare circumstances at the proper depth and pressure, and cooked for millions of years. this is why we do not find oil everywhere in the world. oil does not come from dinosaurs or the center of the earth or the man on the moon.
