Yep. No one really cares about Africa. There is no big Idea for Democracy THERE. No one cares about the millions who die. A few hundred thousand over several years in IRaq- oh my GOODNESS- throw up your hands, get out your handkerchiefs, but millions in Africa? Who cares. While suffering is suffering, as a utilitarian I believe in averting the greater causes of suffering, and the money we are spending in Iraq could have changed Africa much more readily than it is changing Iraq- imo. Oh well.
