Yes, it will be very interesting. Thanks for the links. Although some are calling for a trial on the Nuremberg model, several astute commentators have pointed out that it could simply make matters worse in the Mideast if the same legal procedures were used. For example, the Soviets brought forth charges of "aggressive warfare" and admitted hearsay as evidence. This isn't to gloss over the obvious crimes of the Nazi regime, just that there will be skepticism within the Arab world and so there need to be careful standards of evidence to give the Saddam trial legitimacy.

The Iranian newspapers who say that the US is complicit are missing the point. Throughout the 70s and 80s, the US supplied less than 1% of Saddam's weaponry. About 50% was provided by Russia, 18% by China, 11% by France, and 9% by Germany.
