Even Briefing.com is into the NON event!
1.The image of Saddam as an unkempt bum hiding out in a spider hole certainly doesn't create
a feeling that he was in control of the insurgent activity in Iraq; thus, there is reason to believe
that others are in control of the resistance efforts and will continue their terrorist acts despite
Saddam's capture
2.Let's face it, do you think anyone really held off on buying a cell phone because they were
concerned that Hussein was still roaming around as a free man? To that end, it hits home that
while his capture is good news from a political standpoint, it isn't likely to seriously alter
current spending behavior
3.If you want the mother of all rallies, capture Osama bin Laden... again, Saddam looking like a
bum and not putting up a fight makes it clear who the real Ace of Spades is in terms of
terrorists
4.The market had run up already in the wake of Saddam having rushed into hiding following the
military assault on Baghdad; the good news of his capture provided an excuse to take some
profits
5.The market is focussed on fundamentals and it matters more at this juncture that Wal-Mart
(WMT) is tempering its same-stores sales outlook for December than it does that Saddam is
in custody
