I think the current securities system is well out of date. A completely new system is needed that exploits the speed and checks and balances that are available in computers now.

Maybe a new phased-in all-electronic system would ease the pain of change, running in parallel for those who want it.
It might also give the ordinary shareholder more control over the corporate pay packages and make disclosure faster.
