That means the center wins. Not the left. Bush has to lose for the center to win. Dean is more of a centrist than Kerry or Gephardt. Ergo, Dean must win. Anticipating your whining about Dean being a leftist for his anti-war, anti-imperialist looting stand, I must advise you that a large percentage of the anti-war movement simply cannot be described as being on the Left. For example, I suggest you read up on the writings of Rep. Ron Paul, Antiwar.com, American Conservative Magazine, Charlie Reese, Lew Rockwell and others.
