With MCOM hovering between $4 and $5 per share - is this a good time to buy/accummulate? I have not seen MCOM lower than this in 4 years and yet MCOM president Don Wood seems to be positive about the future.
I remember SSAX at these levels ($4 to $5) when I posted on SI that I am going to buy everything I can (which is close to nil). Now SSAX is around $12+. Maybe MCOM poses a similar buying opportunity now. Any comments?

Is Eric Ryback still positive on this stock or has he dumped all his mutual fund's shares of MCOM?

Is satellite going to kill MCOM or will MCOM be a good company to buy/integrate with a satellite company? Satellite technology is great for wireless download but MCOM complements this with it's reasonably great wireless upload capability which the satellite companies do not have (that I know of).

Here are seemingly positive statements from Don Wood about the last quarter (c/o Yahoo):

``During the second quarter we made significant gains toward realizing our strategic objectives,'' stated Don Wood, President
of Metricom. ``We are on track to hit our objectives for both subscriber penetration and network profitability, as evidenced by
crossing the 15,000 subscriber mark. We also introduced two new Ricochet modems for our commercial and industrial
customers.

``In the April FCC Wireless Communications Services (''WCS``) auctions, we acquired licensed spectrum for $1.45 million
that covers 21 of the nation's top 25 major metropolitan areas. Using both licensed and unlicensed spectrum, Metricom is now
designing a network that will provide customers with user speeds of 128 kbps or more, thus maintaining our technology
leadership position.

``Metricom also expanded coverage in its three major metropolitan markets to include approximately 10 million people. We
signed a partnership agreement with NetCom, a nationwide Internet service provider, to resell our services in all of our current
markets. We will continue to seek partners in the future to assist in the marketing and deployment of our networks.''

Wood continued, ``Although we are still at the beginning of what we consider a dramatic growth curve in the wireless data
market, the progress we have made towards our objectives positions us well for the future.''
