Then you are a first-class accomplice to the wanton death of millions in Africa from bad rulers in the past few decades, with nothing done about it from virtually anywhere. Like Iraq, the US actively pumped in money and weapons into conflicts that wiped out more people than we can imagine most days.

Simple and binary, unless you have some mitigating reason that it is not. How many Africans have to die to get your attention?
