The US would not have agreed to a quick handover of power if the Iraqi Council was actually doing anything right. Instead they can hold some kind of election, hand power over to someone with a Constitution approved by more than a couple dozen people and proclaim victory, then go home.

Since there were never any WMDs or significant terrorist ties to begin with, and Saddam's army couldn't defend a football field much less attack anyone else, the "threat" from Iraq can be deemed over.

Warped but true. Been there, done that and literally have a couple of T-shirts to prove it, LOL.
