Fox's official posture ("fair and balanced") is almost done with a wink. The choice of the word "balanced", I think, is because Fox is seeking to position itself as a counterweight to the perceived left leanings of the traditional mainstream media, most notably CBS as it has evolved under Dan Rather.

I think it would be interesting to see GoreVision drop that pretense and simply say, "look, we are liberal, we think we're right about the issues, and we are making no apologies to anyone for the way we present things. If you don't like it, don't watch."

I suspect that the ratings for such a network, after the initial curiosity wore off, would be lower than they are for Fox News presently. Or perhaps the ebb and flow of GoreVision's ratings over time would begin to serve as a barometer of overall political sentiment.
