I am also in futures, covered with calls, and call spreads.
I have taken many call spreads on gold and silver off.

Can you give an example of how you did this and what the
strategy was. I'm assuming it has something to do with
protecting yourself should your position quickly turn
against you like in a lock-limit situation.

This isn't an effort to criticize. Instead I'm looking for
a way to enter a futures position for a longer term hold
without having to worry about the daily fluctuations that
could quickly cause a problem of keeping a minimum
available in the account.

Got any strategies, links, or books that you like on this
subject?

Thanx.
