Consider yourself lucky.

I got a knock on my door late one night. I was in my underwear, so I just cracked the door to see who it was.

Shuffle, shuffle, WHAM!, some bastard in a ski mask tried to crash the door. I was lucky in that I had better leverage on the door and managed to close & lock it on him.

Called the cops, they were like, "yeah that happens", and I never heard another thing about it. At the time, I was living across the street from a police station.
