I'm not defending their actions, but the tech companies were on their knees in 02 especially when the economy was grinding to a HALT with Bush's warmongering. Companies were out of cash and desperate. They did what they had to do, once the trend started, it was unstoppable.

It should have been addressed, then, by government. Too late now.

If Bush wins re-election, he will win in a listless economy. He cannot count on a Clinton-type boom, aint gonna happen, no matter what the GDP figures show. The GDP is only relevant to corporate profits. Any trickling down is going to China.
