Hi Jim,

We just may be seeing a trend reversal here.
However, a number of companies, particularly U.S.- based, are beginning to seek buyers for assets that they acquired during the period leading up to 2001. Marathon Oil, Vintage Petroleum, Hunt Oil, ConocoPhillips, ChevronTexaco, Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., and Murphy Oil all have put up both Canadian oil and natural gas properties for sale. Analysts speculate that companies are putting their Canadian assets up for sale because of declining exploration prospects.
