Gregor,
I wasn't aware of the % of S&P earnings coming from overseas. This would appear to be a great way of having diversity while obtaining the overseas benefits if the dollar continues to weaken. I really haven't been spending but 15 minutes a day reviewing the market, so I am not sure which industries will benefit the most. All of your suggestions look good, except a falling dollar may increase interest rates (it usually did in the past - to increase the attractiveness of Treasury notes, as well as to tame inflation caused by import price increases, as well as manufacturing increases can bring jobs back.) Companies with large debt would be negatively impacted. Software may be negatively impacted as many have a large % of their work force in foreign countries.
Still, I think the S&P would be a good multinational play.
If you notice recent action, the Nasdaq is no longer the leader in this market. As such, large caps may outperform small caps for the next 2-4 years.
Richard
