Obl, There is no doubt he had poison gas at one time. He used it against the Kurds and bought it from us. One of the reasons the first Bush and Clinton knew about WMD was the fact that we sold them to him in his war with Iran. However, I have doubts whether poison gas is really a WMD, as it has been incredibly ineffective in subway use in Japan and wasn't real effective in either WWI or in the war with the Kurds. Biological, no way. He may have a couple of cows with Mad Cow Disease, which isn't good, but not on the level of the stuff we secretly buried at Fort Dietrich.

Hillary was wrong. The stuff we sold Saddam wore out or hit expiration date. He may have bought some new stuff, but it was minor. Nuclear, he had nothing. Iran and North Korea only have embryonic programs, and they haven't been embargoed. That plant the Israelis took out in the 80s cost Saddam plenty.

Also, I don't think a viewpoint is a reason for war. We should have some sort of proof and Colin Powell claimed we had tons of it. He even had pictures of the bookmobiles which were developing fusion in a bottle. <G> One problem is, Reagan, both Bushes and the Clintons relied on intelligence from this Chalupa guy. You know, the one who faked the tearing down of the statues for the cameras and the "celebration" at Saddam's capture. I know we have to use people like this for propaganda, but I am surprised our intelligence people thought he would know anything about Saddam's secret projects. It would be like Palast telling secrets about George Bush's plans. Ol' Dubya is not going to let him know the secret stuff.
