One more thing.

You might want to ask yourself why it is that McDermott did not make this charge a long time ago.

He could've gone to the press months ago and made his allegation that, I know they're in contact with people all along who know basically where he [Saddam Hussein] is.

The press loves these kinds of allegations, and were it true, it would have suggested that Bush could've arrested Hussein at any time, but was not doing so. If true, this would certainly have impacted on Bush's credibility [and sanity I might add].

Since, presumably, McDermott was privy to this astonishing revelation long-ago we might wonder why he waited all this time to make his allegation.

One of two things are true. Either, McDermott knew about Hussein beforehand and, like Bush, decided to withhold information for political purposes. Or, McDermott doesn't know sh't about anything and talks before he thinks.

I propose the latter explanation makes more sense.
