ARRIS Cadant C3 CMTS Achieves Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 Qualification Wednesday December 17, 11:19 am ET Cadant C3 CMTS Joins Cadant C4 CMTS and Cornerstone CMTS 1500 in Elite Group DULUTH, Ga., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS - News) today announced that its Cadant® C3(TM) CMTS has been awarded Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 Qualification in the latest round of Euro-DOCSIS Certification, ECW13. The Cadant C3 CMTS joins the Cadant C4(TM) CMTS and the earlier Cornerstone® CMTS 1500 as Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 qualified CMTS'. Additionally, the Cadant C3 CMTS is DOCSIS® 1.1 qualified for North American system standards. The Cadant C3 CMTS is presently being shipped to clients with the capability of supporting DOCSIS 2.0-based ATDMA as defined by DOCSIS specifications. The Cadant C3 single downstream CMTS system delivers superior performance while occupying only one rack unit (1 RU) of space (1.75 in) in a cable operator's head-end facility. This small size allows operators to successfully deploy advanced DOCSIS functionality in any size market. The Cadant C3 CMTS joined the ARRIS Cadant CMTS family when ARRIS acquired the CMTS assets of COM 21 earlier this year. It is a flexible, powerful and easy-to-use system for next generation advanced IP services. The Cadant C3 CMTS permits cable operators of any size to provide advanced tiered data, peer-to-peer, and voice telephony services over converged IP networks to both residential and business subscribers alike. The Cadant C3 CMTS is DOCSIS 2.0 upgradeable and provides all the Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities and advanced security features defined by CableLabs for supporting advanced IP services.
