Nice article. Intel is a powerhouse. Priced that way too.

I think some real money will come when someone figures out how to connect it all wirelessly so your house is not a rats maze of wires to connect all this equipment.

I have a new DVR for DirectTV with TiVo on top of my TV now. It has a USB port... can I plug that into my PC and upload shows to burn on DVD? If so, a long wire is silly but a little dongle on it to connect to the new wireless notebook I just ordered would make sense. This would eliminate the need for VCRs, DVD players, etc. as you just use the TiVo/DVR to record stuff then upload it to your laptop for burning onto a DVD, saving on a HD until you run out of room or storage and deleting after watching on another TV in your house (why pay for 3 connections unless you have kids who can't agree on what to watcy?).

I think HP, Dell, et. al. are on the right track where the PCs will eventually turn into entertainment controllers... IF they can do it all wirelessly... wow!
