Bill, Clinton was in office 8 years and had the Reagan legacy of binge buying without spending to correct (to his credit, the President Bush who was actually elected started the corrective process). Flubya is trying to put us deeper into the hole and has been mightily successful. Certainly Clinton's surplus was smoke and mirrors. But Bush can't get close even with all the misdirection and disinformation his little Kremlin puts out.
