A trial for Saddam Hussein will not prove "embarrassing for the United States". It will prove embarrassing for France, Germany, Russia, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc.

When the whole world sees the evidence presented against Saddam, they will all say Bush did the right thing. Just about every major country in the world is guilty of something with Iraq. But it was Bush that said, screw that, forget the embarrasment, this guy has to be taken out now.
