And regarding slave trade. I did not ignore to answer inadvertently. I chose not to don't discuss issues which are historical in nature such as colonialism, slavery etc.
Ah, but they are not historical in nature, the issues are extremely contemporary. Every step the US takes in the Middle East, you cry 'colonialism'. As for the Arab slave trade, it goes on today. The Arabs of northern Sudan raid the blacks of southern Sudan for slaves by the thousands.
So, I think the question is very pertinent. Can you condemn the Arab slave trade as you do the European slave trade? If not, why not?
the case of Kuwait, the US intervened since Kuwait sovereignty was violated. The US went in with UN acquiescence, did their job and got out of there
We got resolution 1441 this time too. If France hadn't blocked a second vote, would you be okay with this war too? Is it only the lack of the UN's blessing that makes the difference to you? Then why all the other objections?
My post deals with the future which is sovereignty and democracy.
If democracy is your goal, you were never going to get it by letting Saddam be Saddam. Sovereignty OR democracy, that's your choice.
You still haven't answered about Kosovo. Since the UN never approved it, I presume you disapproved? |
