Iraqis better get real or my trifurcated state will be the only solution. They sound so much like Palestinians, dont they as they play the blame game. I expected more from them. Now with the capture of saddam, the US must defeat the resistance. If not it will be a sign of our shortcoming OR more to the point, the ambivalence of the Triangle dwellers. If that be the case, we should undo the british mistake and carve out three states. The sunnis can have the triangle and if they become revanchist like the Pals, they will have the kurds and the shiaa to deal with, not to mention the US, UK and even the Iranians.
My hope is that this doesnt happen but the apparent stupidity of many iraqi young is not a good sign. Thus it becomes extremely important that the US crush triangle resistance particularly in the tikrit area(an example for the rest needs to be set there with those saddam tribe folks), rather than continuing to try the "hearts and mind" approach which is yielding the drip, drip, drip of amercican casualties without much apparent success. Think the knee jerk violent reaction to the capture of saddam will lessen in the next few weeks and we will have a window to win this thing. For the terrorists now there it will be much harder to get out than it was to get in. Of course feet first would be a good way for them to leave. Mike
