If you have an inherent distrust of people who see the "big picture" then you've got the right man in Bush. The thing is that conservative thinking, ie. whatever used to work is good enough for me and everyone else, is doomed to failure. It always is, isn't it. Change is the natural state of life, or is that too "big thinking" for you to understand.

As the world changes our role in it must change also. As the world gets more education and more capitalism, our share of the world's pie (resources) will inevitably shrink.

The best way to encourage new ideas is for someone to stubbornly cling to the old ones and fail dismally. Bush, therefor, may be the harbringer of better things to come.
