Elroy, I don't know if you are aware of the site, but

creditscoring.com

has a lot of information about the subject. It's run by a mortgage broker (thus, useful but biased) who has been a gadfly to the credit bureaus. He critiques their secrecy about their models, and accuses them of violating the FCRA.

BTW, many economists suggest that there is a housing bubble, but that it is localized to certain areas of the country. This makes sense to me, since average LTV is higher on the coasts, and price appreciation has been greater there. What do you think?
