Russia to bid for atomic station construction in China

RBC, 18.12.2003, Moscow 19:51:44.In 2004, Russia will take part in a tender for the construction of four generating units of an atomic power station in China, Valery Govorukhin, the Senior Deputy Atomic Energy Minister, told journalists today. According to the deputy minister, the Russian Atomic Energy Ministry has already conducted a presentation of four possible configurations of the units that will be offered at the tender. The official noted that the core condition of China was that the contractor should also transfer the manufacturing technology for the atomic energy generating units. Govorukhin announced that the Russian Atomic Energy Ministry agreed with this condition.

Currently, the Russian company Atomstroyexport is already constructing an atomic power station in China to be put into operation in 2004.
