Dear Kurt:

>>Check Corel's trading volume between 6/10 and 6/26<<

I assume that your point is that during this period Corel had a nice little run from 6.00 US to 6.70 US.During this period average trading volume was 125,000 +-- . (On the NSD) Which shows that this stock does not necessarily have to have large volume to move on the upside.

I don't know how the Canadian exchange differs from the US but it seems that the market makers have a lot of leverage in moving this stock. If they progressivly move up their bid without an accompaning increase in volume the spread it seems should widen on the way up, however when they are at the top in terms of price and "inventory" it seems that the spread should become razor thin; as they would be willing to lower the top price to as low a price as possible just to clear out their "inventory".

I really haven't been watching the spread as closely as possible but it seems that if it differs from 1/8 to 1/4 to 3/16 over a series of trading days it's trying to tell us something.

Best of Luck......gregor
