I don't understand Mr. Reed's statement concerning "extensive testing" and "misconceptions" regarding it.

My own belief about testing came from a discussion with David Archibald in which he told me that "extensive testing" had to be performed on Line 1 product before submitting them to OEMs for their testing.

I suspect that Line 1's product never met specs and that testing didn't proceed very far;however,if there was a misunderstanding it was fostered by company spokesmen and not the rumor mill.
