Poll has Dean ahead in Georgia
WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- A Zogby poll released Friday has former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean leading the field of Democrats running for president.
The poll, conducted for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper, has Dean at 19 percent, up 12 points from October.
The other candidates are in a single digits, clustered together well inside the poll's 5.7 percent margin of error.
Closest to Dean is former House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, D-Mo., at 8 percent, followed by retired U.S. Army Gen. Wesley Clark at 7 percent.
Gephardt, Clark and Sens. Joseph Lieberman, D-Ct., John F. Kerry, D-Mass., and John Edwards, D-N.C., have all lost some of the support they registered in Zogby's October survey.
Among the 277 likely Democrat primary voters, 42 percent said they remained undecided. |
