Welcome to the complete sound-bite trivialization of American politics. Good thing Abe Lincoln didn't have to worry about whether his off the cuff remarks at Gettysburg would play well in the next news cycle. But that's what happens in a society that embraces buying cappuccino in drive-thru lanes. Everything has to be quick, plastic and disposable. Most of our politicians fit the bill. ;<)
