You present a wealth of information and ideas. Thank you. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to digest each tenet and construct a cogent response.

Having looked at each of your links, I have a lot of unconnected thoughts.

1. Any time I hear that “blank has misled the whole world with lies, distortions & outrageous deceit” my ears pretty much fold over on themselves until the hyperbole passes, no matter who is accusing whomever of whatever.

2. Supposing that the majority of what you say about the Bush administration’s motivation is true, they have done a terrible job of presenting it to, and convincing, the American public, to say nothing of the rest of the world.

3. I do not believe that the leftist or rightist press or media lies with intent. I believe they have their biases but seek to present what they think is true. The inference I get too often is that any media’s priority and objective is to trounce the other side, and that the truth is irrelevant. I simply don’t believe that. I believe that Michael Moore and Rush Limbaugh have the same objective: the truth, and by extension, what’s good for America.

4. There is a huge schism between what our government ‘thinks’ and what it tells us.

5. Our propensity to prop up dictators for specific and short term reasons only to have our support come back and kick us in the butt sometime later is embarrassing. (How different would our relationship with Iran be today if we hadn’t been so supportive of the Shah?)

6. Our hypocrisy over human rights insults the intelligence the world.

7. Our direct actions to oust Saddam will have deleterious repercussions for decades to come and more subtle and calculated means to accomplish the same thing would have been wise.

8. Our law to not assassinate any enemy is stupid.

9. The death penalty is stupid.

10. Though we certainly have the right to defend ourselves, to act without regard to the opinions of others is really dumb. (To argue with one’s spouse with the intent of winning winning winning, without regard to where that leaves the relationship, is solely a losing proposition.)

11. I have learned things for what you have written. And I have had my ideas modified. That's a good thing. Thank you.
