"Modifying the contents" is not what they've done. They're lying about what they said. They're saying they said things historically that they didn't say. That is not "modifying." It is revising the record. I take it that you didn't observe with contempt the Soviet practice of airbrushing embarrassing images from official photographs. Well, it takes all kinds.
