Padilla is being held illegally from a criminal justice point of view as were the Japanese americans. With Padilla we believe he was about to do something awful. With 99.9% of japanese americans who were interred, there was no such fear. All i am looking for is those on deanies on the left to recognize this before they go tearing into bush/ashcraft. I happen to be a big FDR fan but recognize the internment as one of the low points of his admin. I do recognize that racism was a far bigger problem back then and out west it manifested itself in ant-asian, and anti-japanese sentiments. Perhaps not apples and apples but not apples and oranges either--more like apples and pears. Mike
