Sony's robots zipping around cities on Segways [they could fit a couple of dozen on each one], with 1xEV-DO and gpsOne would be able to do lots of tricky things. Especially if armed with little machine guns! Or they could act as the eyes and ears for Big Brother, or It who could sit back at base controlling things from HQ via the internet. reuters.com has got video of the robots dancing and running and throwing a ball. Meanwhile, it would be nice to have QUALCOMM involved in the air interface. These little guys could run around on the moon using photovoltaics and not need refueling. Their rocket ships could be much smaller as they would be really light. They could go in little Space Shuttles and no loss of life would be involved if they died. Just loss of clone, duplicates of which could be kept with memory intact and relaunched to carry on where the previous one 'died'. They could be bomb disposal experts [controlled via internet]. They could go into smoke and fires and find people needing rescue and give them air. They could be dropped by parachute from aircraft over enemy territory to scout the place out and be eyes and ears.
