Agreed. Not long enough to properly evaluate a long-term system, especially when you consider that the market was in a low-volatility upswing during that whole period.

Looking back I put in much too strict of trading rules in an attempt to make it work with mutual funds.You might say I kept it so simple it didn't work.

On the surface, these are two contradictory statements. Either it was too simple or it had too many rules. I can tell you with absolute certainty that simple does work, and it works well.

It really didn't have a chance with two days of slippage with each trade.

I would tend to disagree. Maybe a little is lost during those two days, but two days won't make or break a solid long-term system.
