Hi, Mephisto!! Hey, what happened to Minute Subjects, anyway? I was grazing around the coffee shop area last weekend, and was quite surprised at the extremely adult subject matter. I thought you guys mostly talked about wine and gardens and cats over there!!! Who ARE those people?
Okay, seriously about Princess Diana? Dodi Fayed is NOT after Princess Diana because she is a princess. Her father and his father were close, and his father always kept a very protective eye on Diana. Their family owns Harrod's, and they are much wealthier even than hers, so it is not money. She sure would be a trophy wife, though, just because she is so lovely and kind. What was Charles thinking about, anyway!! It always cracked me up that she referred to Camilla Parker Bowles as "the Rottweiler". I think that is SO funny!!! Most of the men on earth would be happy to be with Diana, and she is so compassionate and has such lovely, humanitarian values too. Some people might not be aware that she is travelling the world now, bringing the issue of land mines to the public's attention, because so many people are maimed or killed by them every year.
This guy has been rejected for British citizenship. I don't know why, but perhaps that may be a small part of his interest. I think he could become a British subject if she married him. That's the way I got my British passport, anyway!! Diana gained about fifteen pounds when she was on vacation with him, reportedly from gorging on take-out Chinese food when she was lonely or they were having problems, and although her body in the photographs with quite a big little tummy was rounded and beautiful to me, she overeats for emotional reasons, and so there is some suggestion that everything is not as happy in the relationship as it might be. At least she isn't throwing up anymore, though! I do know that his first marriage only lasted eight months, and that his female relatives, indeed his whole family, is very Arabic in its conservative ideas about the proper role for women, and relationships in general. So I am actually quite concerned for Diana's welfare. She hasn't made the best choices in her life, and has had significant psychological problems.
As her step-grandmother, the pulp author Diana Cartland, said the other day, Diana has had a very, very sad life so far. She has a wonderfully magical kind of power and empathy that could possibly benefit all of mankind, as she matures and takes on more serious issues. Imagine Princess Diana taking on the future of the planet, for example!! I think like a lot of people, I am very concerned for her, and wish her well. |
