Why not Sudan? Why not India where there is wife burning? Why not a Muslim country where they keep their womenfolks behind the veil?

Why not? I would support another nation's armed efforts to HONESTLY eliminate such terrible conditions, when it's clear that all non-military means have failed to achieve that result.

So if France chose to invade Sudan and overthrow that regime and eliminate the slave trade there, I wouldn't mind.

My opinion, and belief, is that totalitarian and dictatorial regimes have little to no legitimacy in the first place. Being accountable only to themselves and their own elites, they are legitimate targets for overthrow when their activities become a liability to international order and stability.
