A Reuters report says the son of former U.S. vice-president Al Gore has been charged with possession of marijuana after being stopped by police in a car in a TurkeMaryland suburb of Washington.

Montgomery County police said Albert Gore III, 21, was arrested Friday night along with two passengers after police officers observed a Cadillac being driven without headlights. As officers approached the car they observed that the sun roof was open despite the freezing temperatures, county police said.

A family spokeswoman said the family doesn't commenting on private lives of their children.
