There is something psychological going on on the Palestinian side because of the wall. I just cant put my finger on it. They refuse to negotiate as the wall goes up but will have little to negotiate once its up. That is the PA in any case but the average guy--their version of Joe Sixpack has to see the wall as the ultimate defeat of their aspirations. And who to blame---its too easy to just blame the israelis. I cant imagine them not holding their leaders and their terrorists responsible for what has befallen them.
That is why yesterday i speculated on the possible role of jordan and perhaps egypt and even saudi arabia riding in on their white horses to peacefully rescue the Palestinians. Back to essential 1967 borders with jordan (and perhaps egypt) in charge of territory and the saudis and US in charge of rebuilding palestine. Out with arafat for good along with with the terror groups who will begin to lose their support. Maybe this will make the average palestiinian optimistic enough to give up violence and start the road to progress. And of course the outside the box settler will have to come home as well. And then syria/golan/renunciation of terror thing can happen on that border. Many believe that syria is just after their land and that at the point a deal is cut they will normalize relations with israel. Add new iraq to the mix, and you have a whole new middle east.
