I think you may have been overly optimistic about the Halliburton story. The White House was managing that very well. The White House kept on focusing on the oil issue and Halliburton probably had a lined up excuse going. Whereas they weren't talking much about the charges of cleaning offices up to four times a day, let alone the slop they were feeding the troops.
