I beg to disagree. It all comes down to Show Me The Money. 20 Billion dollars to be spent on homeland defense is petty, don't you think ?

DC Ambulances did not have enough money to stock up on Aspirin, let alone "extras" you are talking about.

First responders should get all gear and equipment that they would need in any extreme mishap. Very much similar to what the military gets.

How are they less deserving than armed personnel ?
